This is the story of a song that might never have seen the light of day. In 1942, Georges
Brassens, who was 23 at the time, discovered a booklet of poems
“Emotions poétiques” in a junk shop. The author, Antoine POL, had written it in 1911. An officer in the war
of 14-18, he published only 110 copies in 1918.
Brassens came across the poem on page 17, entitled “Les passantes”, a nostalgic text
in homage to women. But it wasn't until 1972, 30 years after its discovery,
that he sang it for the first time on stage at Bobino.
“I want to dedicate this poem to all the women we love...”.
The show recounts the poem's journey, an astonishing odyssey that bears witness to
the improbability and fragility of artistic creation, through a chase between
Brassens and Antoine Pol, who never met.
