Based on a work by Stefan Zweig. Directed by Pascal Renault and performed by Françoise Nahon. Tickets are available online at destination.beaulieusurmer.fr and on the night of the performance.
The heroine, a wealthy, melancholic widow from the bourgeoisie, spends her days in casinos, bored. In Monaco, she falls in love with a pair of hands – slender, powerful, expressive, tense, nervous – those of a young man who is losing at the casino. What follows is an incredible odyssey: in the space of 24 hours, she becomes a different woman from the one she has been for forty years. She surprises herself – and us – at every turn. Stefan Zweig, humanist, psychologist and modern storyteller, draws us into a captivating tale, right at the very heart of passion.
